MISSION STATEMENT

Company History
In the Making -- Early in 1997, the owners of Velocity Athletics created
the Filipino Basketball Association (FBA). The league was created as a way
to bring together the Asian community in Jacksonville in an environment that
promoted goodwill, camaraderie, and athletic fitness through basketball.
By the fall of 1999, the league had grown to over 30 teams and 300 players. One
need that was created by the leagues increasing size was the demand for higher
quality uniforms.
After taking a close look at the options available at the time, the owners recognized
that many companies did not provide a quality product that could be purchased at a
reasonable price. They realized that a team’s only choices were either a sub standard
product at a low price (under $60) or an above average product well over $150 per set.
To make matters worse, any customization to the uniforms would add cost on a per
application basis.
With a new season beginning, they decided to contact members of one of the owner’s
family, who are 3rd generation textile manufacturers. After speaking with them, the
owners discovered that they could establish a unique relationship directly with a
manufacturer that would allow them to provide high quality custom uniforms at very
economical prices, and with relatively short turn around times.
So a decision was made to go with them to provide all uniforms for the league. The
teams were extremely happy and impressed with the quality of uniforms they received.
The owners had no idea that they would one day be making a business out of uniform
sales. However, over the next 3 years, via word of mouth, they were called upon to
provide uniforms for other athletic leagues, Boys and Girls Clubs, Police Athletic
Leagues, and High Schools.
At the end of 2001, the demand became so great that the owners decided to focus
their efforts and resources toward team sports uniforms and athletic apparel as
a full time business. They determined that with an economical one-price approach,
an unwavering commitment to customer service, and the ability to address the needs
of the clients and their customers this new venture would be a success. As a result,
they founded Velocity Athletics—a customized athletic apparel and team sports uniform
manufacturer that tailors its practices to the needs of its customers.
Presently – After a lengthy process of development and refinement, Velocity Athletics
is pleased to announce that response to the products is growing by leaps and bounds.
Velocity Athletics currently has dealers servicing each of the 50 states, and they
also provide uniforms for several collegiate programs.
